Office Branding Manchester and Newcastle
Spiral Colour worked with Parker Design across a number of internal office branding projects for one of their multi-national clients. Their client had recently rolled out new branding which included the introduction of secondary colours and they were keen to use these in their Manchester offices and latterly at their head office in Newcastle.
Because this was to be a surprise for staff as they entered the building on Monday morning, our in-house fitting team entered the building at 6pm on Friday night, working through the weekend until the early hours of Monday morning.
The graphics were designed to create a positive environment for both staff and visitors, emphasizing the successes that the company have achieved, and products they were launching.
Printed Wall Graphics, Wallpaper and Painting to Specific Brand Guidelines
Spiral Colour’s in-house installation team had a number of different kinds of graphics to install. Firstly the walls needed to be painted in branded colourings, and these had to be completely dry before vinyl graphics were added. The vinyl graphics included printed vinyls as well as coloured vinyls which were cut to shape using our plotters. Our fitters also added graphics to windows and mirrors as well as full length wall graphics to windows which had to be printed onto a lightblock, self adhesive vinyl, to prevent light from behind interfering with the clarity of the image and the text.
Dry Wipe Posters
Other graphics included editable progress charts which were printed onto a flexible and rollable 300gsm polypropylene. These were then laminated using a dry wipe laminate which enabled the client to edit and add to progress charts to keep all staff informed and motivated.
The printed vinyls were printed onto MacTac Pro series which gives a medium term permanent adhesive designed for both internal and external use. Where necessary, some of the wall graphics were printed onto a removable self adhesive substrate. These could be removed easily without leaving a residue or damaging the walls they were placed on to. The printed wallpaper used was pasted and printed on our Jetrix flatbed press giving optimum print quality.
Preparation is key
Preparing for all eventualities by testing walls and creating printed samples where necessary, is an important part of any internal graphic application. Heat, light and surface are contributing factors to the longevity and success of vinyl graphic application and may determine what kind of substrate is used. Different surfaces need different substrates and in some cases may need gentle heat applied to ensure real adhesion to the surface.
We also like to do a site survey before we start any job and if possible before we quote. This is done free of charge and may highlight areas where certain vinyl substrates must be used or situations where health and safety requirements must be met, particularly when working at height.
